PROGUARD DXB 100
ProGuard DXB 100: active air and surface purification
Continuous reduction of fungal and bacterial pressure, up to 46 m², with plants present.
The DXB 100 treats the air and surfaces of a grow room continuously, without interrupting production. It mounts on the wall or ceiling, blows downwards and runs 24 hours a day throughout the cycle. It is designed for grow rooms, greenhouses and drying rooms, where pressure from powdery mildew and botrytis is highest.
ProGuard technology
Two processes work together. Photocatalytic oxidation (ARC) uses ultraviolet radiation to activate a multi-metal catalyst: moisture in the air is converted into vaporised hydrogen peroxide, an oxidant that destroys pathogens before turning back into water vapour. Bipolar ionisation then generates positive and negative ions that carry this oxidant to the pathogens, in the air as well as on surfaces.
What sets it apart from a HEPA filter or a UV lamp is this transport. A filter only treats what passes through it, and in a room of several dozen square metres, most spores never reach it. The ProGuard process is active: it reaches the pathogens, including on surfaces, walls and equipment.
Installation and sizing
The unit can be installed in a few minutes, without an electrician: two screws, a bracket, a plug. Position it so that the bottom of the unit is 60 to 90 cm above the top of the canopy, away from fans and air intakes. Ceiling height does not come into the calculation: only the floor area counts.
Above 46 m², several units are distributed around the room rather than a single, more powerful unit, to avoid uncovered areas.
Ozone
The UV lamp in the PCO cell produces a small amount of ozone. This is intentional and tested: it remains safe for people, animals and plants in a correctly sized and ventilated room. This is the model the manufacturer recommends for grow rooms. For spaces with low air circulation, where ozone would build up, the manufacturer offers an ozone-free version that is not yet in our catalogue.
Maintenance
- Filters: replace approximately every 3 months, depending on the environment
- PCO cell: replace every 12 to 15 months in professional use
- Manufacturer’s warranty: 2 years
The PCO cell is the catalyst that produces the oxidation. Once it reaches the end of its service life, the unit keeps running but its efficiency drops: replacing the cell is what determines the result.
