The Beta-1 is a simple solution for mini-split air conditioning systems.

It uses the remote control supplied with your mini-split air conditioner to ‘learn’ how to change the set points on the mini-split. Almost every brand of mini-split unit can be controlled by the Beta-1. Once the Beta-1 has learnt the signals from your remote control, it automatically changes the set point on the mini-split for two separate day and night temperatures. It does this AUTOMATICALLY using a small IR (infrared) transmitter that sends the same signal to the mini-split as the remote control normally would.

The remote control learning process takes about 5 minutes. Once the remote control has been programmed, the user simply selects the day and night temperature settings they want to use on the Beta-1 control panel. A built-in photocell / light sensor determines whether it is day or night. The Beta-1 then sends a signal to the mini-split unit to reach the correct temperature set point according to the state of the photocell.

The Beta-1 unit can be mounted anywhere within the area to be controlled, as long as it is positioned so that the photocell on the front of the Beta-1 receives enough light to detect daylight. The IR transmitter is then mounted with a direct line of sight to the indoor mini-split unit so that it can send the IR signal to it.

The Beta-1 temperature sensor provides a clear reading of the current temperature within the controlled area, as well as the temperature setting currently selected. The temperature sensor also constantly monitors the temperature and resends the IR signal to the mini-split if the Beta-1 does not detect a change in temperature.

The Beta-1 can be set to cool only, heat only, or cool AND heat, depending on the capabilities of the mini-split unit. The Beta-1 is easy to use, reliable and effective in providing separate day and night temperature settings for your mini-split air conditioner.
