Agroscope Conthey
Agronomic validation on Swiss commercial crops
Agroscope is the Swiss Confederation’s centre of excellence for agricultural research. Its mission is to provide the scientific basis for agricultural policy and growing practices. It is the national reference body for agronomic validation.
The collaboration with Future of Grow, which began in 2020, focuses on the impact of LED lighting on the organoleptic and nutritional qualities of strawberries grown in soilless greenhouse cultivation.
Measurements cover sugar content (Brix index), aromas and antioxidants, following standardised protocols. The results show a 30% increase in sugar content, together with a measurable improvement in aromas and antioxidant properties.
When Agroscope validates a result, it becomes a reference standard for the entire Swiss agricultural sector. It is a first-rate institutional endorsement for any commercial grower.
Key figures
Increase measured on greenhouse-grown strawberries under LED lighting
Superior organoleptic and nutritional properties under LED
Measurements according to standardised protocols of the Swiss Confederation
Standardised protocols of the federal research station. Soilless greenhouse growing. Brix index measured by refractometry. Analysis of aromatic and antioxidant compounds by spectrometry. Systematic comparison of LED vs conventional lighting under identical growing conditions.
