Challenges & Objectives

The 12 climatic chambers (PERSIVAL) are equipped with partially defective neon tubes, and their manufacture has been prohibited since August 24, 2023.

Much more than optimization,
a tailor-made approach

As part of this project, we implemented a dual optimization of energy consumption:

Optimization 1

Replacement of over 300 neon tubes, with a 50% saving on energy consumption, while improving lighting performance.

Optimization 2

Integration of PAR probes for programming 4 research zones with the desired PPFD

Each climatic chamber has been equipped with custom-made LED tubes (length and power) to ensure light homogeneity in all chambers, regardless of their size.

The trays of each of the 12 chambers were carefully dismantled and equipped with variable transformers as well as waterproof LED tubes, equipped with click connectors.

The largest of the climatic chambers was equipped with two controllers for the lamps, with PAR probes, allowing the programming of four research zones with the desired PPFD.

To ensure perfect compatibility with the existing infrastructure, we have designed a custom solution. This includes the development of UV-resistant transformers, fixings, cables, and click connectors, offering quick and flexible installation. This design is intended to simplify long-term maintenance, thanks to fully replaceable components individually.

At F.O.G, each component of the luminaires can be replaced in case of failure, thus offering an economical and sustainable solution. This approach allows the producer himself to carry out the interventions, thus reducing maintenance costs while ensuring optimal use over the long term.
