ProGuard DXB Mini: Active Water Treatment in a Compact Design

The same technology as the DXB 100, for spaces up to 23 m².

The DXB Mini incorporates the same technology as the DXB 100 in a 1.5-kg wall-mounted unit. It is suitable for small grow rooms, drying rooms, propagation areas, and utility rooms where space is limited. The air outlet grille faces upward: the unit should be mounted as high as possible on the wall or on the ceiling, 30 to 60 cm above the top of the canopy.

ProGuard Technology

Two processes work together. Photocatalytic oxidation (ARC) activates a multi-metal catalyst using ultraviolet radiation: moisture in the air is converted into vaporized hydrogen peroxide, an oxidizing agent that destroys pathogens before reverting to water vapor. Bipolar ionization then generates positive and negative ions that carry this oxidizing agent to pathogens, both in the air and on surfaces.

The difference between this and a HEPA filter or a UV lamp lies in this mode of transport. A filter only treats what passes through it, and in a room measuring several dozen square meters, the majority of spores never reach it. The ProGuard process is active: it comes into contact with pathogens, including those on surfaces, walls, and equipment.

Sizing and Timing

The unit is rated for 23 m² in continuous operation. In a smaller room, the manufacturer recommends running it intermittently using a timer:

19 m² and larger Continuous operation
14 to 18 m² 2 hours running, 2 hours idle
9 to 14 m² 1 hour running, 2 hours idle
Less than 9 m² 30 minutes of walking, 2 hours of downtime

Maintenance

  • Filters: Replace approximately every 3 months, depending on the environment
  • PCO Cell: Replace every 12 to 15 months in professional use
  • Manufacturer's warranty: 2 years

The PCO cell is the catalyst that drives the oxidation process. Once it has reached the end of its service life, the device continues to operate but its efficiency decreases: replacing it is essential for optimal performance.
