Getting started with
your LED lighting

5 essential steps to install, configure, and get the most out of your horticultural LED lights.

01

Choosing the right power

The power required depends on your growing area. Allow for approximately 30 to 50W per square meter for optimal coverage. Lighting that is too weak limits yields, while lighting that is too strong wastes energy.

0.5 - 1 sq. ft. → 300W 1 - 1.5 m² → 400W 1.5 - 2 m² → 600W
02

Suspension height

The distance between your lamp and the canopy directly influences the intensity received. Start high and gradually lower it while observing the plants' reaction.

Germination → 60–80 cm Growth → 40-60 cm Flowering → 30-40 cm
FOG tip: If the upper leaves curl or turn white, raise the lamp by 10 cm. If the stems grow excessively long, lower it.
03

Light cycles

Photoperiodism is key to growth phases. Respect these cycles for optimal results. A timer is essential to maintain regularity.

Growth → 18 hours ON / 6 hours OFF Flowering → 12 hours ON / 12 hours OFF Autoflowers → 20 hours ON / 4 hours OFF
04

Ventilation and temperature

FOG LEDs emit much less heat than HPS lights, but good air circulation is still essential. Aim for a temperature between 22 and 28°C at canopy level.

Extractor adapted to volume 22-28°C ideally Humidity 50-65%
LED advantage: Unlike HPS lamps, you can place the lamp closer without risk of burning. This allows you to work with lower ceilings.
05

Maintaining your LEDs

FOG LEDs are designed to last 50,000 hours+. Minimal maintenance is required to keep performance at its peak.

Monthly lens cleaning Check connections twice a year 3-year FOG warranty
